In the Amalgam Universe, Magneto (Erik Magnus) is reimagined as a combination of Marvel's Magneto and DC's scientist Dr. Will Magnus. After his original team of mutant freedom fighters is destroyed by Sentinels, Erik refuses to accept the loss of his friends and creates a new team: the Magnetic Men.
