Each dupe carries a different shard of his personality, and when he sends them out into the world, they don’t always come back the same.

The story kicks off when one of his dupes returns home unexpectedly… dying. That single moment pulls Jamie into a deeper conspiracy involving identity, autonomy, and the consequences of treating pieces of yourself like disposable assets. As he digs into the case, he’s forced to confront the uncomfortable truth that his dupes have lived entire lives without him—and some of them don’t want to be reabsorbed.

The issue closes with Jamie realizing the investigation is bigger, darker, and more personal than he expected, setting the tone for a grounded, character‑driven mini‑series.
