Matt Fraction’s Fear Itself is a Marvel crossover event where an ancient Asgardian force of fear is unleashed on Earth, pushing heroes and villains into widespread panic and war.

The story begins when the Serpent, an ancient Asgardian god of fear and brother of Odin, is freed from his imprisonment. He empowers several “Worthy” individuals across Earth by granting them enchanted hammers, turning them into unstoppable, rage-driven avatars of destruction.
